It is no secret that AC Milan want to sign Mario Gila, and the Spaniard also wants to move to the club, as Fabrizio Romano reports.
Over the past few months, Gila’s name has been heavily linked to Milan, thanks to the position of Igli Tare. Indeed, the defender signed under the Albanian, and it seemed that this would be essential to the Rossoneri’s pursuit.

However, Tare was fired at the start of the summer and with Massimiliano Allegri – another big fan of his – heading to Napoli, a deal seemed to be heading in the favour of the Neapolitan outfit.
Yet, there has been another turn. Despite their lead, the Partenopei have dropped back in favour and Atalanta – after having a bid accepted – have also got little chance. The reason why? The re-emergence of the Rossoneri.
Gila’s wishes clear
Now, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on his YouTube channel about the situation and the wishes of the player, as MilanNews relays.
“We can say that negotiations for Mario Gila have begun. We’ve always said that this would be a week in which Milan intended to come to the table to negotiate. We never talked about closing the deal within 24 hours, but that depends on the clubs.
“Milan have closed the deal with the player, a five-year contract, €5 million net for Mario Gila, but there’s still negotiations to be had with Lazio. Lotito starts at €30 million, and Milan have made an offer closer to €20 million than €30 million plus bonuses, so Milan are currently at around €24-25 million, including bonuses.
“Lotito wants €30 million because he has to give Real Madrid a 50% share, so negotiations have begun. I don’t think it was a good idea to dismiss the deal as a done deal a few days ago, nor to write it off today. There’s still work to be done and negotiated.
“Gila has been clear; he’s made it clear that he wants to go to Milan.”

I wonder if it’s true that Lazio had accepted Atalanta’s offer (23M€ + bonuses) but Gila refused as he wants to join Milan. If so, why Milan needs to pay 30M€?
ofc it is, it’s Lotito
Maybe atalanta give lazio percentage on the future sales about 20%.. who knows on his transfer clause… Give lotito 30m or he will go to atalanta. Depends on milan…
30 mil for a player in his last year of contract … Lotito is on another level.
Also having questionably overpaid for Ramos, one would wonder why Gila’s offer wouldn’t follow suit for a player we need as much as we need Ramos.
Redbird logic lol
Did I see 5mill per season?
