Romero lifts lid on start to life at Milan and the team-mates he was ‘surprised’ by

By Oliver Fisher -

Luka Romero has spoken about his career to this point and the decision he made to join AC Milan last summer during a interview with Relevo in Spain.

The Argentine arrived at Milan last summer on a free transfer from Lazio but he was one of three right wingers to arrive, with the others being Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze.

Romero was loaned to Almeria in the January transfer window as he was not getting enough game time from Stefano Pioli, and the decision was made for him to stay in Europe rather than accepting an offer from Boca Juniors.

Romero has caught the eye whilst on loan at Almeria in Spain, thanks to the two goals he scored against Atletico Madrid last month.

Romero spoke to Spanish source Relevo about why he decided to join Milan and the difficulties that he encountered, even shedding light on some of his team-mates.

“They are clubs that are very difficult to enter. They have great players and every year they get stronger and stronger. I learned a lot in training. I’m a very shy boy. I really like listening. I keep all the ideas,” he said (via Radio Rossonera).

“[I was] Surprised by the quality of team-mates like Theo Hernández or Rafael Leão, despite him having learned a lot in training. My loan? I needed to go to continue to grow and play more minutes.”
