Ronaldinho praises Milan and discusses Scudetto chances: “It could be the right year”

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are currently in a very good position in the Scudetto race and this could be the year, 11 years since they last won it. Ronaldinho was part of that team and has now shared his thoughts on the current season.

The Brazilian legend made 11 league appearances for the Rossoneri in the Scudetto-winning season as he was sold to Flamengo in the January window. Still, he contributed with three assists in the league as well as one goal in the Champions League.

Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport in an interview that was published this morning (via SempreMilan.it), Ronaldinho spoke about the team of the 2010/11 season compared to this one. He was also asked about his friendship with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“It’s true, the Milan side I played in had a lot of great players, but there are some in this side too. What prevails today, however, is the concept of the team, which is enhanced in a great tactical organisation. For this reason, just like us, they are doing a great job.

“Scudetto? Maybe we wait for the mathematical confirmation to say it. What is certain is that I have remained a great Milan fan and I have always followed the Italian league closely. But I think it could be the right year for Milan.

“Ibrahimovic? Zlatan is a great friend of mine. Despite being 40, he’s doing well. Winning another Scudetto at his age would be great for both him and the club,” he stated.

There are just eight games left of the season and Milan inevitably have a lot of pressure on their shoulders. On the other hand, they don’t have to rely on the results of others, which is always nice.
