Rossoneri legend Albertini expects ‘a bold Milan’ and shares thoughts on their mercato

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are finally back in the Champions League and will start their season away at Sampdoria tomorrow evening. They seem to have the full support of many Rossoneri legends, including Demetrio Albertini.

In a long interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by MilanNews, the former Milan midfielder spoke about the opening game against Sampdoria tomorrow. He made it clear that he expects a bold side, like last season.

Albertini was also asked about the Rossoneri’s efforts on the transfer market, having brought in seven players (including loan confirmations). He stated that Milan are still missing two players to complete the team.

“From Milan, I ask to be amazed again. I expect a bold team also in the Champions League, like Atalanta in recent years. It will be an uncertain season. Juve and Inter are slightly ahead, but everything is possible. Milan, to win, will have to repeat an extraordinary season. They moved well on the market, but I hope it’s not over yet. There is a playmaker and a midfielder missing,” he stated.

Milan’s clash against Sampdoria is scheduled for 20:45 CEST tomorrow and it will be very interesting to see them in action. The pre-season provided good indications but we all know that it’s very different once the season starts.
