RR: Milan highly likely to negotiate over Tonali fee but his stay does not seem in doubt

AC Milan are convinced by Sandro Tonali and there are no doubts about him joining on a permanent basis, according to a report.

Il Giornale wrote this morning (via MilanNews) that Tonali will not be signed outright by the Rossoneri despite the fact they beat competition to sign him from Brescia last summer.. That is because another €25m would be needed to complete the purchase when factoring in bonuses, and Tonali will therefore return to Brescia and have to find a new club.

The Italy international played 37 matches for Milan in all competitions this season, including 25 in Serie A, but he wasn’t used much in the final stretch by Pioli, and that has been enough to thrust serious doubt on the deal.

Nonetheless, Radio Rossonera are reporting that Milan are still convinced that they want to sign Tonali outright and there will be no meetings that will involve the agent. However, it is very likely that Milan and Maldini try to reduce the initial figure agreed with Cellino and Brescia regarding the option to buy.
