RR: Milan’s chief scout Moncada identifies Fiorentina star Castrovilli as key target

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have identified Fiorentina star Gaetano Castrovilli as a serious target for the upcoming transfer window, a report claims.

The 22-year-old dazzled during Fiorentina’s 3-1 win at San Siro against the Rossoneri earlier in the season. After the game, Castrovilli admitted his love for Milan, and the Rossoneri have actually been linked with a move to try and sign him since.

It has previously been suggested by SportMediaset that Castrovilli is one of the players that Milan would consider discussing in a swap deal for Lucas Paqueta, who continues to be linked with a move to Florence.

According to Pietro Balzano Prota of Radio Rossonera, the situation regarding Castrovilli – in addition to many other midfield targets already mentioned – is one that Milan are following with great interest.

Chief scout Geoffrey Moncada has even put an asterisk next to his name on the list of targets, as he really likes the Italian and believes he could be a big part of the midfield revolution.

However, Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone expects Fiorentina to keep hold of Castrovilli for the foreseeable future.

“Castrovilli is one of the Italian talents we are betting on. He has a great margin of growth and is convinced of our ambitions,” he told Radio Anch’io Sport.

It has been reported that he would cost around €45m amid links with Juventus and Inter.
