RR: Milan’s main priority for the market highlighted as late signings could arrive

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still prioritising the purchase of a new central defender while other additions may have to wait, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have already secured the renewal of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and welcomed Ante Rebic on a permanent deal, while Brahim Diaz, Sandro Tonali and Ciprian Tatarusanu have also joined.

However, directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are still working hard to strengthen Stefano Pioli’s squad by adding the finishes touches in a couple of departments.

According to Simone Cristao of Radio Rossonera, the plans at Casa Milan have not changed and the priority is still to sign a new centre-back given the problems in that area.

With Alessio Romagnoli and Mateo Musacchio starting the season injured, the lack of depth has been exposed.

Cristao adds that there are no predeterminations on the structure of the deal or on age, but they must ensure immediate quality.

The rest depends on sales and Europa League qualification, when the management would move to ensure the squad is well equipped for two competitions plus the Coppa Italia.
