Arrigo Sacchi has highlighted a key aspect of AC Milan’s performance against ZTE in the friendly in Hungary last night that worried him.
Milan registered their first defeat of the pre-season as Zalaegerszegi TE scored three goals in the first 26 minutes and thus put the clash to bed. The Rossoneri at least got on the scoresheet thanks to Giroud and Krunic, but the dismal first half display was quite worrying.
Of course their opponents were ahead in their preseason preparations and therefore were in but better shape for the game, but nonetheless it is proof that there is plenty for Stefano Pioli to work on.
Sacchi gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport and he was asked about the Rossoneri’s defeat against Zalaegerszegi, with his comments relayed by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it.
“The others attacked and pressed, the Rossoneri retreated. There was no game in the first half hour. But I repeat what I said at the beginning: definitive judgments cannot be made after a friendly match in July,” he said.
“If anything, I noticed that Milan didn’t press. On the other hand, only Atalanta, Verona and Torino do it well in Italy. In modern football, if you don’t attack, you’re fried in a pan.”
Did he joking ? One of ACM’s key points to win the tittle past season is High-Pressing & playing vertically (attacking). “Only Atalanta, Verona, Torino did it well in Italy” ?
It was our pivots, are the problem. Our pivots can’t give stability at defending which are their primary duty. Thats why in Pioli’s game-plan decided heavily at quality of their pivots.

I totally disagree with Sacchi because Milan was one of the best when it comes to pressing game last season.

Ac Milan management know the team needs A to make a strong team but their will go and sing B just tired with this trasver policy seriously
The main problem of the game is brescianini. He’s the ghost all the time. And become heavy liability for the team. Bad in create attack, worst in defence. If Pobega start or even the fringe Bakayoko, it would be different result. Not mentioning if full squad is in starting eleven.
