Sacchi reveals why he can ‘support’ Milan’s current project and cites ‘respecting the budget’

Arrigo Sacchi has provided a positive outlook on AC Milan’s project ahead of what is an important new season for the Rossoneri.

Sacchi’s sides of the late 80s and early 90s cannot be replicated, but the former Milan boss believes in the project for the upcoming season being put together by Stefano Pioli. Pioli has been in the dugout for just under two years now and has led the revolution from a management perspective to transform the team into a spirited winning club reminiscent of the past.

Sacchi’s outlook on the methodology implemented by Pioli is positive. When interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) regarding his stance on the club’s future and the 2021-22 season in particular, the Milan legend said: “How do I judge AC Milan being born? In a positive way.”

According to him, the team possesses a versatile mix of young talent and veteran experience.

“A young group with some more mature elements, such as Ibrahimovic and Giroud,” he said.

Adding to his words, Sacchi explained that the project being undertaken by the club to regain former glory is mindful of the back-end management. He said: “It is a project that I support, also because it has been realised respecting the budget.”
