Alexis Saelemaekers has been a big surprise since he arrived at Milan a little over a year ago now, with few knowing who he was back then. Now he’s a key player for the Rossoneri and Stefano Pioli’s system.
The Belgian has bagged two goals and assisted an additional two in 20 league appearances, but mainly contributes in the defence phase. His hard work allows Davide Calabria to strive forward, with the two working very well together.
In an interview with MilanTV (see video below), Saelemaekers spoke about the game against Hellas Verona on Sunday and also spoke about other things. He was asked about his position, revealing the key factors for him.
“To me, it’s important to pose a threat and help the team score and that’s what I try to do every game. I need to continue doing it.
“Verona? We need to try to play with the mentality we had against Roma and do what the coach tells us. If we all do that, we can win this game.
