Saelemaekers pledges to ‘give everything’ and reveals what a fan told him about the 5-0 – video

AC Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers has insisted that he and his team-mates are ‘ready’ for the finale to the season and the Scudetto push.

Milan are heading into the last two games of the season knowing they need a maximum of four points to secure a first league title since 2010-11, but with recent though sides Atalanta and Sassuolo still to come nobody is taking anything for granted at the moment.

Saelemaekers spoke to Milan TV about the upcoming fixture against La Dea on Sunday afternoon at San Siro, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“When the match starts I want to give everything for the team, fans and club to stay at the top. The important thing is to give all my heart, everything on the pitch and I’m trying, then if I can help the team in a certain way I’m just happy and I’ll do it again in the future,” he said.

On the squad: “It was important for us to keep this team spirit and joke. When you are on the pitch the important thing is to be precise and focused and we did it. There are two games to go, we will try to continue like this and stay focused, to give everything on the pitch to get what we are fighting for.”

On last season’s finale: “We all remember the last few games, we were together and focused. This year we have to use last year’s games as experience to get what we want.”

On last year’s Atalanta-Milan: “It was a difficult match. Mentally, until the end, we had to be focused and we had to do the right things. In this match too we have to do things right and listen to the advice given by the coach every day. I saw a group that gave their all during the week and that is ready for these two finals.”

On his encounter with a fan: “I met a fan who told me: ‘We still remember the 5-0’. It is an important match and the defeat two years ago was big. For the fans I think it is important to give everything and bring home the three points, both for two years ago and for the Scudetto.”

On Milan-Atalanta being sold out: “I thank the fans for their presence, with Fiorentina they were exceptional. Against Atalanta it will be extraordinary and we will give everything to the end for them too.”
