Sampdoria 2-3: Milan Primavera: Cup progression sealed with comeback win

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s Primavera side continued their positive start to the season on all fronts by beating Sampdoria in the first game of their Coppa Italia campaign this afternoon.

Ignazio Abate’s side closed the gap to Inter at the top of the table thanks to a dramatic late winner from Alexander Simmelhack in a 2-1 win over Samp on Sunday afternoon, and the teams had a rematch today this time in Genoa.

The scoreline was different this time but the result was not as Milan Primavera qualified for the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia Primavera thanks to a 3-2 victory, but they had to come from behind when the Ligurians took the lead in the 16th minute through Conti.

The Rossoneri equalised in the 31st minute with Martinazzi, then the other two came in the second half as Chaka Traoré converted a penalty in the 64th minute and then Perrucci made it a two-goal lead in the 71st minute.

Right at the end in the 94th minute the second goal for the Blucerchiati came through Leonardi but it was too little late. In the next round, the Diavolo will face Empoli.
