AC Milan and Inter are making considerations about their San Siro plans, a report has revealed this morning, despite things being on the verge of conclusion.
With the new stadium, or just the stadium generally, it has not been simple. As everyone knows, this matter has been ongoing for years and years now. However, it seemed as though it was getting close to an ending.

In fact, all parties were heading towards a conclusion. Though, as it seemingly always does, there was a shift in proceedings.
Obstacle course for San Siro
As La Rebubblica (via MilanNews) reports, the two Milanese clubs have ‘taken a day to reflect’ on the situation, despite things almost being done. The problem, as reported also by La Repubblica (via MilanNews) is that the second tier remains restricted, whilst safeguarding measures must also be resolved.
Furthermore, there are investigations into matters regarding the fee of the sale too, which makes the road more difficult to navigate, at least for now. Discussions are ongoing between the clubs and the Muncipality, however, it could become an issue for Mayor Sala to resolve.
The road to buying San Siro is ‘an obstacle course’, though it is in the interest of all parties to resolve things immediately. After all, this is something which has needed sorting for years.

Hard to fathom for the American mind but in Europe mayors are elected to defend the interests of citizens. San Siro belongs to the citizens of Milan and Sala has the responsibility not to discount it to billionaires. I know it doesn’t make any sense for people living in a country where stadiums are built with public money, in a country worshipping billionaires, but Milan is still in Europe. We know how these guys negotiate, we saw it with Bruges or Monaco, Théo and Mike, Sala is right here. Who fcking cares about stadiums when we need hospitals and schools…
Clearly, you understand zero about the issue here and put the optics in politics which have little to do with the problem here.
If Milan and Inter leaves San Siro, it is a big problem for Milan as a city, because these millionaires as you said not only give a lot of jobs but also gives a huge amount of money not only for the rent of the stadium but in terms of taxes and the works. If the stadium is not used, not only that flow of money does not exist anymore but also you need to maintain it, and without money from it, it is a burden on taxpayer money or directly the structure becomes a white elephant with nothing to offer and all to swallow money. That is the reality either here or everywhere else in the world with “public” structures. This is a business between Milan teams and the Milan city, and the business needs to benefit both, otherwise it is not a business… it is either a charity or a welfare system from the state to benefit football.
Having said that, I do not understand why Inter/Milan still insist in this project when it is clear it will lead to nowhere. And if for some reason it can go on, it does benefit them in the short term, but not in the mid and long one since they will splash more money for a structure that do not belong to them. Milan should focus on San Donato or wherever they consider fit, and Inter as well. There is no real reason to continue at San Siro other than to spend less money now, but without the revenue/benefits of a new structure. Time will tell – my dream is to travel to Italy when the new stadium will be built but I think maybe I won’t be alive to witness it, and I am not even 50 yet…. lol

England teams have a lot easier in these aspects and I don’t see people complaining about big teams having stadiums in urban areas… maybe, just maybe they love football and local authorities love the huge amount of money these structures give to the city coffers.
That stadium in unsellable unless Milan or Inter buy it. And the biggest losers, if Milan and Inter walk away and builds their own stadiums, are the very Milan city, who will be with a useless structure swallowing money only to maintain it but without revenue/taxes/whatever. What’s naive is to think that San Siro would be abandoned if the clubs don’t buy it. It will be sold to someone else, for entertainment or whatever, Milan is a dynamic city. It could be reclassified for housing and the area would be of huge value.
It seems like the issue is that the municipality doesn’t want to sell to redbird/elliott and Oaktree as long as they can’t be sure that the land will be used for a stadium. But sure they should trust them. Let’s trust the billionaires, it’s working great in America.

I forgot to add that this dark ages situation happens not because they “defend the interest of citizens” (INSERT BIG LAWL HERE) but because the politics needs to keep the power to stay relevant and keeps the circle of corruption. What it means less red tape? Yes, less corruption and less laws to be enforced by the same politics that create them…

Milan 7 time CL winners with one of the largest fanbase in the world needs its own Stadium and stop sharing with Inter. Milano is a big city but I don’t how their politics works.
