Sandro Tonali has named his ‘dream XI’ selected from players that he has played with, and there is a strong AC Milan influence.
The current Newcastle United star – who continues to be linked with a move back to Milan – started his line-up with Gianluigi Donnarumma in goal. He is someone that Tonali played with in his final season with the Rossoneri, and of course he knows him well from the national team too.
In defence, Tonali named Simon Kjaer and Theo Hernandez. The Dane came during the 2019-20 season and was credited with adding leadership to a fragile dressing room, while Theo’s exploits need little introduction as he became arguably the best left-back in the world with Milan.
Tonali picked Franck Kessie in one of the three midfield positions. The ‘president’ was with Milan for five years before deciding to leave on a free transfer, but not before having a huge hand in the 2021-22 Scudetto win.
In attack, Tonali went for Rafael Leao on the left wing and Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the striker. The Italian’s admiration for the Swede is well known as he cried during his retirement speech, while Leao continues to be one of the leaders of the current side.

As a Dane it warms my crooked little heart to see Kjær amongst them, rather miss them both at AC Milan. Hope to see Tonali back at some point of time.
Tonali, you almost sent milan to serie c with your crimes. Please take milan out of your mouth.
His transgressions was his own and not AC Milans and neither did the club know about it and neither did we get any punishment of ANY sort for it so how about you stay quiet about something you clearly doesn’t know squat about.
Just because you doesn’t like him and has an opinion doesn’t make it the slightest correct.
Rubbish talk
Bro lets bring our boy back! At this point Newcastle should have been offended ten times over. If ‘He’s just not that into you’ was a person…lol
