Santiago Gimenez scored a ridiculous bicycle kick while on international duty with Mexico, before it was unfortunately called offside.
Mexico drew 0-0 with Costa Rica on Sunday night to win Group A of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and that means they will face Saudi Arabia in the quarter-finals of the competition. It was a frustrating game against a low block, but Giménez thought he had the winner.
The striker scored with an outrageous bicycle kick in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time, but the goal was disallowed by the referee following a video review. In the end it didn’t stand, but Mexico finished on seven points to win their group on goal difference.
This was too pretty of a goal from Santi Giménez to be called offside. 🥲 Unlucky. It was an insane piece of skill. 🇲🇽

It will certainly be encouraging viewing for Massimiliano Allegri, who has apparently made it one of his missions to get the €35m man firing after a mixed first few months in Italy.
That goal was legit. VAR is useless and the referee was stupid. These bozos don’t even know the rules of the game. They robbed Gimenez of a legitimate goal. What a crying shame. Smh
I guess they considered this a deflection 😆
I thought as much..
