Milan have already brought in Olivier Giroud but could reinforce the centre-forward position even more, this time with a younger profile. In recent weeks, in fact, Santos star Kaio Jorge has been heavily linked with them.
On Friday evening, MilanNews reported that the Rossoneri are very interested in the 19-year-old and would like to sign him for a few million. It might sound like a low offer, but that is because the striker’s contract will expire in December.
In an interview with Diario do Peixe, as cited by MilanNews, Santos president Andres Rueda confirmed that they have indeed received an offer for Kaio Jorge. Although he didn’t mention the club, it’s very likely that it’s Milan.
“We have an offer. The market is tight: clubs in Europe don’t have much money, but we have an offer, yes. We have made a counter-offer and we are negotiating. The offer came directly from the club,” he concluded.
It remains to be seen if the clubs can bridge the gap and reach an agreement. Then again, it’s not 100% certain that the Rossoneri have made the offer, as there are other clubs interested in the youngster as well.
