Christian Pulisic should thrive at AC Milan and in Italian football, according to his USA international team-mate Josh Sargent.
The USA international spent four seasons at Stamford Bridge having had four years at Borussia Dortmund before that, so he has made the decision to try a new adventure in a new league.

Josh, your friend and international strike partner Christian Pulisic has moved to Milan. Is he ready for Italian football?
“Pulisic is a great player. We’ve spent time together in the national team and Milan is a great opportunity for him. I haven’t heard from him but I assume he’s happy and I wish him the best. I can’t wait to see him in the red and black shirt.”
Why did he never reach the same level at Chelsea as at Dortmund and the national team?
“I don’t know his situation well, it’s better to ask him. What I can say is that he’s an excellent player. He’s smart, fast, creates many goal chances for his team and is versatile. He’s a great signing for Milan.”
Is he a game-breaker, or a ‘game changer’? One of those who makes his team win games and titles?
“It wouldn’t be fair to put so much pressure on them but for me it can be. Christian needed a fresh start and he will give his all at Milan.
“The fact that he has already demonstrated it by leaving the United States for Germany [he moved to Borussia Dortmund at the age of 16] before moving to England. Milan will be his next step, he will have a great impact in Italy because he is a strong player.”
In the United States he is compared to Lebron James, does this speak volumes about his status in America?
“(Sargent laughs) He is a very strong player who has had a great impact in the national team and in the teams where he has played. We have many talents in the national team but he is an idol for many American players and children because he created this ‘pathway’ towards great football.”
