Goals from Sara Stokic and Thea Kyvag were the difference and the Rossonere now sit in a fantastic position.
Match report
From the first whistle, the visitors were on top and this showed when Grimshaw almost converted within the first seven minutes. Whilst Sassuolo did have their own chances, it was not enough to breach the Rossonere goal.
The breakthrough came around the 30th minute, when Stokic finished off a well-worked move, scoring the 350th Serie A goal for the Milan Women.
Stokic added another shortly after half time after a cross from Grimshaw. Another happy memory, 13 months on from when she scored her first Serie A goal at the same ground.
It was not time to stop, either and the Rossonere added another in the final 15 minutes of the game. A counter-attack finished by Kyvag and a perfect rounding off of a great performance away from home.
