Sassuolo CEO confirms Milan-linked Berardi wants to leave but there are ‘no offers’

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have made several good signings this summer and there is more to come, by the looks of it. The right-wing role could perhaps be reinforced before the window closes as Domenico Berardi has been linked with the club.

Two days ago, Gazzetta di Modena (via MilanNews) wrote that Berardi is among the options that are being considered by Milan to upgrade the right-wing position, and the Italy international has asked to leave the club.

However, it has also become clear that it would be a complicated operation for the Rossoneri and this was confirmed by Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali. Speaking to Gazzetta di Modena (via MilanNews), he painted a picture of the situation.

“He expressed his desire to try other experiences, it is true, but at the time we had already given his agents a deadline: August 12. The offers have not arrived, we are at the end of the market and we have to plan. We are always ready to sit down to satisfy the wishes of a player, but it is necessary that suitable offers arrive,” he stated.

Milan seemingly have other priorities, at least for the time being, and Alessandro Florenzi will also be able to act as a backup for the right-wing role. And then there is always the Hakim Ziyech dream, although it’s somewhat unrealistic.
