Sassuolo CEO denies holding talks with Milan over Frattesi: “They haven’t asked us”

The CEO of Sassuolo, Giovanni Carnevali, has claimed that AC Milan are not one of the clubs they are in talks with over the sale of Davide Frattesi.

Milan will now have to rebuild their midfield after the sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United which leaves them with only an injured Ismael Bennacer plus Rade Krunic and Tommaso Pobega capable of playing in the double pivot.

It was reported yesterday by Sky that the first contacts between the CEO of Milan Giorgio Furlani and his Sassuolo counterpart Giovanni Carnevali for Davide Frattesi took place yesterday, with a battle against Inter now underway.

Carnevali spoke during an interview with the newspaper Il Messaggero about the future of Frattesi, with his comments relayed by PianetaMilan, and seemed to deny talks with the Rossoneri.

“We’re talking to Roma, Juve and Inter. I hear about Milan, especially after the sale of Sandro Tonali, but at least up to now they haven’t asked us, while with the others the discussions are ongoing and we’ve met,” he said.

“Do Roma have an advantage? The Giallorossi have a 30% resale clause but this doesn’t condition us, also because it should be emphasised that we are not obliged to sell him, we don’t need to do so. Frattesi has not expressed any particular preferences , other than to remain in the Italian league.”

  1. How would this skinny boy replace our strong pitbull Tonali? They don’t even have the same playing style, our owners are making us a problems where there was no any.

  2. Of course we haven’t asked. Frattesi is a good player but clearly overvalued by Sassuolo. The new strategy is to look for the exact opposite.
On top of that, he obviously wants Inter.

    1. And Fratesi will not be at his best in Pioli’s beloved 4-2-3-1. He is not a DM. Lets just sign Sangare and Reijnders.

  3. *major facepalm*

All those rumours and we aren’t even in the race lol.

Wait that got me thinking, are we even in the race for Thuram?

    1. “All those rumours and we aren’t even in the race lol.”

Whaaaaaaaat???!! It can’t be possible that all the rumors posted online aren’t true???? So one cannot believe everything you read from the internet???? WHAAAT?!!!

  4. Milan interest in Frattesi was always a media invention to raise the price.
It would make no sense for Milan to sell Tonali for 70mil, out which around 10 ho to Brescia, to then turn around and spend 35-40 mil on Frattesi.
Give me 3,4 players for around 10-20 mil.
We have way too many holes to spend that much on Frattesi.
Give me Ricci, Samardzic, that Reindeer dude or even get Fabian Ruiz on loan from PSG, heard he is available.
    Frattesi isn’t moving the needle.
Hope they don’t overreact and spend on him.

    1. You can have many great names, but problem is these directors couldn’t bring anybody in so far. Lost race in Thuram, although I’m not sure wether we should be dissapoint or glad in this case. But now Kamada is also disapear in thin air.

        1. Well, even if Kamada deal is completed, it wasn’t negotiated by the current director. The deal was already agreed by Maldini prior to sacking. So it won’t disprove Jaan C*k’s claim that “these directors couldn’t bring anybody in so far”. They still have long time before the transfer market end but it will be better if they can sign the player early for pre-season.

        2. Yeah maybe right with registration issue. Hopefully so, if we are yet to miss another free transfer then I have no word to say. After Leao renewal, Kamada news, I feel excited with how Milan will progress next season. But after Maldini sacked, Tonali’s sale, possible sale on Theo, and missed on Thuram (although not much for Thuram but, it shows how incapable our director was) everything starts falling apart

      1. I’m putting all my faith on Kamada now. If he ends up somewhere else all we get this summer is… MORATA!! Alvarafckingmorata!!! If that happens, I will chew my wrists open.

        1. Like we are able to land Morata either with these management. I will not have faith in these board until they do something right. So far what they did is not right in my view me as a fan. Sacking Maldini, sold Tonali under no financial urgency, while you have the like of Origi and Rebic is roaming around Milanello and sitting on the bench most of the season while Sandro played almost every game.

  5. i’ll be back with my popcorn 🍿🍿🍿

can’t wait for the new breakthrough from the new Milan owner & management (redturd /cardinale, furlani-moncada).

and of course, the essays /lectures from the members in here who are very knowledgeable about the economic policy of a club and how to run it.

    1. I’ve been popcorning 🍿 🍿 🍿 it of late watching especially the pro-new management crowd talk about how this is.how.a.club should be run eat their words. It’s quite fun. I’ve been channeling my inner Juro and it’s been fun 😂😂😂

      1. Hahahahahaha!!! I’m right there with you brother! Noticeably silent is the foremost Redbird lover @Pioli!!! LMAO. That doe key will resurface when we bring back Valter Birsa to be our starting ACM lol

  6. Too expensive 40m euro . We must change formation to 433 if want to sign him . Hjolmund & sangare are still good option to 4231

  7. First of all, This story Indicates that Tapeworm has NO Intention of making ANY actual investment this season. All that Frattesi Chuku news are just smokescreen. We will get none. Just like Frattesi, I think we made NO CONTACT for Chuku.

BECAUSE THAT”S NOT HOW MONEYBALL WORKS

After selling tonali, we were serious about just TWO Transfers. Kamada and Thuram. Thuram blasted on Tapeworm’s face.. Now lets hope Kamada does it. The only viable transfer option at the moment is Arda Guler. Fits Moneyball perfectly. We are gonna see a few 300k 400k liigue 2 players soon enough.

  9. Lol 🍿 I’ve been channeling my inner Juro and I must say it’s been quite fun 😁😁😂😂😂
All these we told u so pplmbeen biting their words recently. Can’t wait for the actual Mercato to start

    1. I hope those I told you so ppl can finally see how badly tapeworm fcked us by sacking Maldini and tossing the entire project into the bin, But that requires some thinking from their part and it’s a big ask. lol
