Sassuolo midfielder hints at desire to take next step amid Milan and Roma links

By Oliver Fisher -

Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi has suggested that he will be ready to take the next step in his career at the end of the current season amid links with a move to AC Milan.

A recent report from TMW claimed that Milan are one of many European clubs that are contemplating a move for Sassuolo midfielder Frattesi in the near future, along with Brighton in the Premier League and Roma in Serie A.

Frattesi was a guest on Cronache di Spogliatoio and he was asked about whether he could have left Sassuolo in the most recent summer transfer window when he was often also linked to Roma and Milan.

“Digesting the course of events, when you make the leap you have to be ready. I could have left last year as well, but maybe I wasn’t 100% ready. This season will do just that,” he said (via TMW).

It therefore seems the midfielder will definitely be willing to leave Sassuolo at the end of the season having seen the likes of Giacomo Raspadori and Gianluca Scamacca make moves away from Sassuolo last summer and succeed elsewhere.

  1. €30mn for an OK central midfielder who doesn’t suit double pivot ? No thanks. Seems like Italian journalists are a bit bored during the WC break.

  2. Yes, buy him. I played Football Manager 2023 and I buy him. And use 3-men mid (Tonali, Bennacer, Frattesi). CDK as AMC & 2 strikers (1 Leao). It was delightful.

Frattesi – Tonali – Bennacer could dominate the Serie-A.
