Tuttosport: From ‘saviour’ to absent culprit – Ibrahimovic ends up in the dock

The AC Milan fans – or at least a very vocal section – seem to have decided that multiple things at the club are not working and the protests have begun.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes this morning, Curva Sud followed up on the protest that began on Sunday evening by showing up outside the venue chosen by Milan for the celebrations of the club’s 125th anniversary.

The fans generally speaking are fed up with the performance of the team, with unmotivated players who don’t know how to react and also a coach that is not yet proving himself to be an upgrade on Stefano Pioli, plus the management who selected him and the players.

They were not the only recipients of the protest chants and jeers from the Curva though, who also told Gerry Cardinale to sell the club. Then there is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has gone from being the ‘saviour’ to being ‘responsible for the decline’ in just 12 months, in the eyes of some.

Ibrahimovic has perhaps taken on his role too lightly, a position that he believed would involve little work, but evidently he was wrong. RedBird’s Senior Advisor is the perfect symbol of an absent hierarchy that made many mistakes in this season’s planning.

The Swede, more than anyone else, has been targeted by the fans, who felt betrayed by the man who was supposed to bring Milan back to the top. Ibrahimovic meanwhile is doing something completely different, disappearing in the most delicate and complicated moments.

He calls himself the boss, but leadership as a player is one thing, authority as a manager – towards your former team-mates and the fans who adored you – is an entirely different thing.

  1. Hey Pioli is still contracted to us. Maybe we should just dump Fonseca and get Pioli back and try to salvage what can be salvaged :Þ

  2. In My opinion Fonseca is an upgrade to Pioli.
On the 13th December 2023 we were out of Chamions League and with Fonseca we are still in it. Till today 17th December 2024 Fonseca have 6 Lost Games. Till 17th December 2023 Pioli had 6 Lost Games. PSG Away. Dortmund Home. Inter Away. Juventus Home. Udinese Home. Atalanta Away. I think if any they are on the same wavelength. Keith 🇲🇹

    1. That’s okey, I think same , also this season there is more ups and down from more clubs ( Lazio, Juve, Fiorentina ) and still we are just 8 points from UCL with one game in hand , but main problem is he has no experience to brake this bad moments… it’s all about willingness of our players who don’t know how to play ” coach style “..
You can see it perfectly on Morata, who is in my opinion great striker, but has also problem to score goals like last matche.. first we need to hope for another place for UCL and then maybe hope for bad matches of Lazio, Fiorentina and also Juve ..
Or maybe if our management want to play with Fonseca , its better to concentrate just to Seria A and other cups ( ucl, italian cup) cancel… but this make no sense when specially UCL is about money

    2. You don’t know football at all. Any coach that said Emerson Royal is his prefered choice & ask the management to bring him for him knows nothing. You also that said is better than Pioli knows nothing.

Pioli brought the Champions league that he is playing now, but with what Fonseca is doing now he can never bring Champions league next season to himself or to any coach that will succeed him. He are not being fair to Pioli

Pioli is far far better than this your confused Fonseca

  3. Fonseka je klasični gubitnik ! Doveden je samo da bi bio marioneta ovoj upravi i da im se slučajno ne bi suprostavio !! Sad imaju što su htjeli pa nek jedu govna svi skupa !! U SLAST !!!!!!!!!!
