Scaroni highlights €5m revenue loss for Milan-Juve: “Who will give it back to us?”

The new stadium capacity has certainly received a lot of criticism, with just 5K fans allowed regardless of the stadium size. For AC Milan, this has been a huge blow as they have two home games in the 5K span.

The first, as we know, took place on Monday night as the Rossoneri lost against Spezia by two goals to one. That game wouldn’t have attracted loads of fans even with a bigger capacity, but the same can’t be said for tomorrow’s clash.

In fact, Milan will face Juventus and that would have been a sell-out. Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri president Paolo Scaroni shared his thoughts and revealed that they will miss out on €5m.

“Milan-Juve would have guaranteed us a collection of 5 million, and we are talking about just one Sunday. Who will give it back to us? We want to resume as soon as possible, in compliance with the numbers of infections, the path towards full stadiums,” he stated.

The new capacity was mostly criticised because it’s 5K regardless of the stadium size, which meant Venezia actually increased their capacity. The feeling is that we will be back to 50% after this period, though.
