This afternoon, four major members of AC Milan were fired, and whilst Paolo Scaroni has avoided the same fate, his role will change.

Today has been a mad day where Milan are concerned. Things have accelerated quickly and after suggestions that changes were on the horizon, confirmations arrived within minutes. Indeed, RedBird Capital Partners – not the club themselves – released a statement confirming that changes had been made.

“It’s time for change and a profound reorganization of the Club’s sporting department. Effective immediately, the tenures at AC Milan of CEO Giorgio Furlani, Sporting Director Igli Tare, Head Coach Massimiliano Allegri, and Technical Director Geoffrey Moncada conclude. We extend our thanks to each of them for their work and dedication during their tenure at the Club.”

It was somewhat of a shock that the announcement arrived so quickly. However, it is a testament that change is needed and numerous key figures have left.

Scaroni stays… but

What is interesting is that Paolo Scaroni has not been a victim of the exodus. However, he has not been left untouched in his role. According to Nicolo Schira, the chairman of the club has also seen his role change.

As of now, he will no longer be involved in the footballing side of things, focusing purely on the stadium.

“Paolo Scaroni will stay at AC Milan as President, but he will not involved in the First Team, but will have a role just about the new Stadium’s project.”

  1. I honestly do not know how Scaroni will help this club with a new stadium which begs the questions as to what on earth he has been doing at Milan for the past 6 or 7 years. Someone just get rid of him.

  2. Hehe, at with 9 lives, hanging on a limb, it’s because Cardinale carries little weight in Italy. He still needs someone “big” to walk into offices

  3. What exactly this clown was left for? He is as useful as Furlani.

He serves no particular job within the club, aside from attending matches for free, giving meaningless insights and collecting the paycheck.
