Davide Calabria is getting closer to leaving AC Milan on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to a report from journalist Nicolo Schira.
Despite the fact that the 27-year-old is a club captain and has been a regular starter to this point, there have been several reports claiming that Calabria’s future is ‘up in the air’, especially given his contract situation.

According to the latest from Schira, Calabria is ‘getting closer to leaving Milan as a free agent’ at the end of the season. His contract extension is not a priority for the management, as of now, and in fact that talks to extend his deal ‘stalled many months ago’.
The signing of Emerson Royal from Spurs in the summer has shifted the hierarchies in the right-back position, with Calabria now seemingly the back up. He has also suffered with injuries already this season and is not expected back for the game against Udinese on Saturday.
Where might he end up if he does depart on a free transfer? A report from Turkey earlier in the month claimed that Galatasaray are keen on the idea of making the Italian an offer, having been linked during the summer too.

Now: Calabria
Future: Gabbia
I think everyone but Calabria understands that he leaves on a free in the summer.
Not me. We gotta keep Calabria and give him a raise
You deserve Emerson Royal.
I know – the guy’s hardballing his supposed boyhood club when he’s either injured and not playing or playing like he’s injured…
No worries, we’ve got Emerson
Another Italian on his way out. Daniel Maldini played well today against Israel. Glad he left and find opportunity elsewhere. Calabria is not a world class but made a scapegoat in many matches. Milan has been in downhill since Scudetto. They employed cheap coach and thats what they got. Look at Napoli what a proven coach can do.
Come to Como!
Yes, people forget your first love is the tobacco vanity project.
Despite the media bs, he’ll stay, thanks.
Yikes didn’t realise they’re involved in tobacco!
I do have a close personal connection to Lake Como, and Cutrone is probably my favourite player right now (apart from maybe Gabbia) but don’t support them.
If Milan get bought by Saudis it’ll be a choice between fascists and tobacconists!
It’s ok I was only messing. All big money is dirty money, and at least they seem to be keeping the fans happy.
I have a lot of friends who are (genuine, old) Man City fans who won’t hear a bad word against their board, because at the end of the day, the football is good and they are winning stuff.
Won’t pay our Captain but will sign Emerson Royal. Great Job Milan management🙄
The next captain who is leaving ACM for zero pezos. We watched this movie more then once
I don’t like this. Just give him like a 2 year extension for agreeable money and be done with it. Yes, Calabria looks slow vs pacey left wingers. So does everybody else. Royal somehow manages to look worse both defensively and offensively.
He might also look pretty good at RCB in a back 3.
What he provides better than any other player in the team right now is leadership. They’ve had so much turnover the last few years and many of the best long time players are just not very good leaders (Theo, Tomori, Leao). So I want him back in the squad and I want him starting at RB unless we have somebody who’s clearly much better (which we don’t).
So we’re in for a season 3 of downgrading. Good job Gerry and the RedTurds, all the wrong moves. Keep it up!
he is one othe best rb in the league
better defenders then him cost a lot of money
and if we buy cheap we get emerson…
we must keep him for now
Tonali fundamental for Italy and Maldini with a delicious pass before Italy’s 3rd goal.
Pardon my French but sincerely, go f*ck yourselves Gerry and the RedTards.
Gabbia, Tonali and Maldini should be the first names on our team sheet. They are making up the transfer policy as they go along.
I think Calabria will stay, but it’s scant consolation.
Bro Tonali was literally everywhere on the field..I was like daaammm we missed that 😢
Give him a decent raise then sell him for a reasonable price so we at least get some money. We cant keep losing players in their prime for free. Or even better, keep him.
Also dont underestimate the value of having own Italian products in the team as a local core (which all successful Milan versions have had).
Calabria over Emerson
Gabbia over Tomori
Maldini over R-L-C
Colombo over Abraham
(Bartesaghi as deputy to Theo)
We wouldnt do worse then we are right now with those Italians in the starting eleven.
