Journalist claims winger will sign deal with Milan until 2026 despite two ‘important’ offers

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will soon be able to announce the extension of Rafael Leao’s contract, a journalist has claimed, with two sizeable offers from abroad rejected.

There has been a lot of speculation over the past few weeks that Milan are looking to be more proactive in their renewal negotiations hence why they have opened talks with Leao, Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer over the extension of their deals beyond the current deadline of 2024.

According to what journalist Nicolo Schira, Leao’s contract extension with Milan until 2026 is at the final stage. The Portuguese forward will stay at Milan, even though he received two ‘important’ offers.

He adds that there have been positive talks between technical director Paolo Maldini and Leao’s agent Jorge Mendes in the last few days which has helped the negotiations in the right direction, and the Rossoneri should therefore soon be able to confirm the extension of the former Lille man.
