Schira: Milan in talks with entourage of Real Madrid man as €28m gross demands are set

By Oliver Fisher -

It appears that AC Milan have not yet given up on landing Lucas Vazquez on a free transfer as talks with his entourage are ongoing, it is claimed.

The idea of taking Vazquez at zero cost has been talked about for weeks, especially in the event of qualification for the next Champions League, as an element of versatility and experience like Vazquez is of course very useful.

According to Nicolo Schira, Vazquez’s contract with Real Madrid expires in June and at the moment it appears as through a renewal is far from imminent. Milan have shown interest in the 29-year-old Spanish winger and have opened talks with his agent Arturo Canales and the intermediary Edoardo Crnjar.

Vàzquez for his part is asking for a four-year contract worth €4m net per season plus add ons. It would be a €28m gross commitment for Milan – €8m gross for the first two years then €6m for the next two because of the Growth Decree that applies to players arriving from abroad after two years.
