Eindhovens Dagblad: Bologna midfielder to join PSV – Milan beaten to €12m deal

By Oliver Fisher -

It seems as though PSV Eindhoven are going to win the race to sign Jerdy Schouten from Bologna ahead of AC Milan, according to a report.

According to Eindhovens Dagblad journalist Rik Elfrink, PSV are closing on a deal to sign the Duthcman for what will be about €12m as a transfer fee plus a few million euros in bonuses and a small resale percentage.

PSV have not had to invest money in order to sign the 26-year-old from the Rossoblu because there was still money available from the Noni Madueke deal, given they sold the winger to Chelsea for about €35m.

Schouten’s flight from Bologna was expected to take off yesterday as per the journalist but was slightly delayed, though he landed in the Netherlands yesterday evening.

PSV still has some paperwork to do with the Serie A side but if everything goes to plan he will undergo his medical soon and sign for the Eindhoven club.

Elfrink reported on Friday that Milan had offered €20m to sign Schouten but that the player only wanted to return to his home country and join PSV.

      1. Maldini’s Heir suddenly disappeared. Haven’t seen him for days. And suddenly “Mate” shows up. Schouten is an average Krunic clone.

Surprise, surprise dude. Changing names are we?

      1. My bad I sort of gave him the blueprint for that setup by saying him and Kaka were the same ppl. It was meant to be a joke just the one time, not an ongoing thing. But he picked it up and is Now he’s running with it. 🤦‍♂️

  1. Should have offered the 20M for Hujlmund when we had chance and not Schouten

Lack of a striker is concerning. If we are willing to spend 20m on Schouten (who is not even that good IMO) why not spend an additional 10-15M and make an offer for a striker like Wahi???
