Scoring spread and free-kick favourites: All the key stats from Milan’s win over Verona

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan got their second away league win in a row as they ran out 2-0 victors against Hellas Verona at the MarcAntonio Bentegodi.

In a plucky first half it was a wonderful free-kick from Rade Krunic that gave Milan the lead with a stunning shot into the top corner, and Diogo Dalot was the unlikely scorer of the second goal as he surged into the box and also finishing first time into the top corner.

Below are the best post-match stats, courtesy of the club’s official website

➤ Milan have won eleven out of the first thirteen away games for the first time in history (one draw and one defeat). Milan are the fourth team to have done so following Inter in the 2006-07 season, Juventus in 2017-18 and 2018-19 along with Napoli in 2017-18.

➤ The Rossoneri have scored directly from free-kicks in two of the last three Serie A matches against Verona (Çalhanoğlu with the other in February 2020).

➤ For the first time in Serie A, Milan have kept two consecutive away clean sheets against Verona.

➤ Milan are the fourth team to reach the tally of 100 points since 01/01/2020 in the top five European leagues after Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

➤ With Rade Krunić and Diogo Dalot finding the net, Milan now have 15 different goalscorers in this Serie A campaign and only Atalanta have more (16).

➤ With Diogo Dalot on the scoresheet, the Rossoneri now have six players who’ve found the net this Serie A season who were born after 01/01/1999, three more than any other team in the league.

➤ Six of the nine goals scored in Serie A by Krunić have come when the scoreline was 0-0. Rade is also the first Bosnian player to score a Serie A goal for Milan, taking the total number of nationalities to have found the net for the Rossoneri in the competition up to 40.
