AC Milan are continuing to keep an eye on the best talents in Ligue 1 and Elye Wahi has caught the eye of scouts, a report claims.
According to TMW, the Rossoneri are following Wahi with great interest as he has scored 12 goals in 24 games this season for Montpellier at the age of just 20, playing mainly as a centre-forward but also out on the left.
Milan’s scouting team – headed by Geoffrey Moncada who knows the French market so well – see Wahi as one of the perfect targets in the event that Rafael Leao is sold, which is becoming an increasing possibility as the weeks go by.
There is competition to sign Wahi though because Stade Rennais are also interested in him, while in France there is talk that offers of over €20m have already arrived for a player who looks destined to have a very bright future ahead of him.

I don’t agree. Milan should sell him to the highest bidder and use the money to rebuild the squad because a lot of players need to leave.
At least 9-11 players need to be replaced. Mirante, Tatarusanu, Ballo-Toure, Rebic, Messias, Bakayoko, Ibra, Origi, Kjaer, Gabbia, Vrankx, and Dest.

I know nothing about this guy but he seems the right sort of profile. 20 not 16 or 36. Scoring goals, and the important part, according to the article, the competition is Stade Rennais, not a host of top Prem clubs.
Why does Leao have to be sold before Wahi can be bought??? Wahi plays as a center forward for Montpellier. I don’t get this article. Wahi has good speed, skill and scores goals. That’s what we need from a striker. SMH
If we are looking to replace Leao someone like Laurienté from Sassuolo makes much more sense because he’s more of a left winger than a forward, Serie A tested, 24 years old so still young, better dribbler and by the looks of it, he’s going to end this season with about the same stats as Leao last season when he got the MVP. Sure, Laurienté probably costs more than Wahi, but I suppose we are going to have the money if we do sell Leao. I want to believe we’re not going to sell him for like 15 mil, although who knows at this point.
