Pre-season is well underway now and whilst AC Milan are getting into the ‘real’ part, they have already done a lot of work.
The game against Celtic this weekend will tell us a lot about where Milan are. Of course, they will be without several key players, but they still have a solid team available to them and Ruben Amorim wants to show what his team have been up to.

Inside Milanello
Tactically, Amorim would prefer to score another goal, rather than shutting up shop. His 3-4-2-1 is a representation of that: a larger focus on attacking, rather than defending. Riskier than the 3-5-2, yes, but also a clear view of his game.
His sessions are longer, but with only one a day. Preferring to work with the ball and a smile, there are large contrasts to Allegri’s training and even the demand to win is displayed during training.
Sticking with the goings-on at Milanello, Christian Comotto and Francesco Camarda are impressing heavily so far. Loans cannot be ruled out, of course, but there is an increasing chance that at least one of them stays.
Andrej Kostic deserves a separate mention, too. He’s already convincing the Portuguese coach to make him the alternative striker this season. Amorim can see he has the instinct, but does he have the rest to become a top alternative for his squad?
Samuel Chukwueze and Alphadjo Cisse both need to recover, but in different ways. The former needs a mental improvement, so he can finally take on Serie A, whilst the youngster is recovering from an injury. Both can have an impact and will need testing over the next few weeks.
Looking at the mercato, after their strong start, the Rossoneri will now try to sign an attacking midfielder. Konstantinos Karetsas is the main target, but departures are needed for a move to happen.
The first two matches of the summer have already taken place; the first was a 0-0 draw in front of the fans, but the most recent was a heavy win against the Futuro with goals from Kostic, Lorenzo Ossola, Chukwueze, Strahinja Pavlovic, Camarda, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Youssouf Fofana.
It’s a good place to be ahead of this weekend’s first official pre-season game.
