Clarence Seedorf has urged Milan, or perhaps the Italian national team, to reach out to Paolo Maldini as the club legend ’embodies the true values of sport’.

It’s been nearly two years since Maldini packed his bags and said goodbye to Milan, failing to reach an agreement with the owner Gerry Cardinale. A lot has been said about his departure, including by the man himself, and he has certainly been proven right in many ways.

In an interview with La Repubblica this morning, as transcribed by MilanNews, Maldini’s former teammate Clarence Seedorf shared his thoughts on the situation. After all, Maldini is yet to find a new job and some fans are still hoping for a return.

“Should Conceicao stay? Evaluations should be made on the entire season, not on the results of one or two games. This also applies to those in positions of power.

“If one day Paolo Maldini could return to football? He would be useful for Milan, the national team or any other club, as long as he’s actually allowed to make decisions. Paolo embodies the true values of sport,” he stated.

As things stand, however, a return to Milan appears very distant. A role in the national team would be far more likely and perhaps it’s even something that Maldini would prefer, given that Cardinale and RedBird’s methods remain at Milan.

    1. He is exactly want ACM needs right now, and if you can’t see or admit that, you just prove to us all what little you know about football.

    2. Ignorance be free.
And self taught delusions be easily generated. Keep living in thay sweet bubble of yours.

    3. Some people live their life literally to hate on Maldini. Haven’t seen Nelli comment in ages ….but of course, mention Maldini and they all comes out of the woodwork.
Who are ALL players that left for free? Donnaruma was never going to leave for a fee when Raiola could get a hefty contract by running out his time at Milan. Neither was Kessie who Furlani wasn’t going to raise the wage budget for. Only Hakan truly left “for free” but he snaked us. But here we are revisiting the same nonsense over and over. Did they not re-sign Theo, Rafa and co? Sure let’s ignore those (sarc)

  1. What would be the point in him coming back. I love him to death, especially with the miracles he and his team performed on that shoe stringed budget. God bless M/M and Pioli too at that.

But Redbird have shown that they are not determined to win, but to do the bare minimum to participate and show up.

So Maldini coming back would be no different from the first time. Those who tanked him are still here. Better to ride out this Cardinale train to its last stop, maybe then we could dream.

  2. When i read comment out here,it means y’all are blind. saw a comment stating”so that our player can leave for free” maldini a’nt the owner of milan,he can’t decide who stay or leave because such power was’t given to him. Please stop the hate
