In addition to signings, Igli Tare will also focus a lot on sales this summer, with several outcasts to part ways with. This will also be the big challenge, as highlighted by Luca Serafini.
AC Milan completed their first summer signing yesterday as Samuele Ricci signed his contract with the club. Luka Modric is expected to follow, while negotiations remain ongoing for Ardon Jashari. In short, there is a lot happening on the incoming front.
Having said that, Milan will also have to focus a lot on sales this summer. Using the midfield as an example, the likes of Yacine Adli and Ismael Bennacer will have to be sold, while Yunus Musah and Tommaso Pobega could also leave the club.
Serafini highlights the biggest challenge
In his latest editorial for MilanNews, the well-known pundit Luca Serafini discussed various topics with regard to Milan’s mercato. He made it clear that selling players will be the biggest challenge for Tare this summer, with the Rossoneri in need of some cash.
“The fact is, as mercato precedents teach us, that selling is more difficult than buying, especially when you need to sell. It will be important to respect the value of the players and avoid letting them leave at discount prices. At the cost of keeping some, of course,” he stated.
It remains to be seen how Tare will fare on this front, but Serafini is certainly right in saying that it will be a difficult task for the director and Milan this summer.
Emerson (loan + option for Real Betis), Thiaw (Como giving 25M), Theo (waiting for CWC to end – 25M), Bennacer (still has worth and can get us 10-15M), Musah (EPL, Napoli interest – 25-30M), Colombo (Torino had interest, maybe we give him for cheaper – 5-8M)
Adli, Chukwueze, Okafor… now these 3 on the other hand are difficult… strangely, Adli wasn’t kept by Fiorentina but the attackers are just useless…
Strangely Adli wasn’t kept by Fio? Adli did not convince at Milan and did nothing to convince Fio either. Below average player and rightly rejected.
Fiorentina had an obligation for Fagioli. Ours was an option for Adli. Perhaps they didn’t want to pay for another midfielder
In a totally unrelated news, Tomitasu the guy we were once linked with has terminated his contract with Arsenal. Not my favourite but he’s free and can play right back. Perhaps he’d love to come badk to Italy.
