Fiklayo Tomori is suspended and will miss the big derby, while Pierre Kalulu got injured in training and will be reassessed in ten days. This means that Kjaer will get his first chance as a starter this season and great responsibility lies on his shoulders.
In his latest editorial for MilanNews, Luca Serafini wrote a calming message for the Milan fans, who have been expressing some worry over the Dane starting. But the truth is that such experience is needed for the derby.
“I see Milan fans trembling due to the absences of Tomori and Kalulu. Suddenly Kjaer, Denmark’s captain and pillar, seems to have become the point of the defence. No esteem, no trust. I humbly give him mine in the name of his seriousness, his professionalism, his expertise and of course, of his value. He will play a great game, he will lead the defence and give security to the team. It’s the only prediction I (willingly) allow myself,” he wrote.
Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 CEST and the game is of course sold out. It should make for a great atmosphere underneath the floodlights at San Siro, especially since both sides are at the top of the standings after three rounds.
