Serafini pleased with first win as Milan can face Liverpool with ‘a bit of oxygen’

AC Milan claimed their first three-pointer of the season last night as they scored four goals against Venezia. While the opponents were far from brilliant, this was still a very important win for the Rossoneri as argued by Luca Serafini.

After claiming just two points in the first three wins, and heading into the international break with confidence at rock bottom, a win against Venezia was crucial. Milan responded in the best way possible and restored some much-needed confidence.

Liverpool are up next in the Champions League, then Inter, and the pundit Luca Serafini believes the win against Venezia could make all the difference for Milan. Or at the very least, as he put it, the Rossoneri will head into the game with ‘a bit of oxygen’.

“It’s not that all the problems go away with a stroke of a pen, but an injection of confidence and a higher bar of confidence were needed. Despite Venezia’s mistakes, many of them, I really liked the team in the second half: they didn’t want to concede, they fought, the players came off the bench well.

“There are some things to fix though: when Venezia attacked they gave the impression of putting the defence in difficulty. But we’ll take everything that came tonight, now there’s an injection of confidence from the stadium; I’m sure that the tickets for Liverpool will be sold. Now we can face them with a bit of oxygen,” he said as cited by MilanNews.

The game is scheduled for Tuesday evening and one can only hope that the ticket issues, referenced by Serafini, will be solved by then. On Wednesday of this week, there were still just shy of 20k tickets unsold and having so many empty seats would be far from ideal.
