Serginho pokes fun at Inter: “The 6-0 for Milan remains in history” – video

Former AC Milan defender Serginho has poked fun at Inter by reminding them that a 5-1 derby win is still not quite the 6-0 his side achieved.

The six-goal win that the Rossoneri racked up on Friday 5 November 2001 lives long in the memory. A brace from Gianna Comandini made it 2-0 at the break, then Federico Giunti scored, Andriy Shevchenko got a brace of his own and Serginho added the sixth.

The beating was so bad that an Inter fan came onto the pitch and pleaded with Billy Costacurta for the scoring to stop, and 6-0 was how it would eventually end although there were arguably enough chances to take it into double figures.

Serginho was interviewed by SportMediaset and he was asked about the derby from last month, with the Brazilian former full-back admitting that it it not quite of the same magnitude as that night 22 years ago.

“The 5-1 can happen, the 6-0 for Milan remains in history. At the time, we dominated the whole match and we could have even scored more goals: it was very heavy,” he said.

“I think that the first leg of the Champions League semi-final was worse than the derby. I think we can find the great Milan again and win the derby again.”
