Sergio Conceicao has admitted that not only he experienced a tough spell with AC Milan, but also his son Francisco.
Just before the end of 2024, Milan made the decision to sack Paulo Fonseca after a disappointing first part of the campaign and hire Conceicao. The Portuguese certainly made a good start, lifting the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia after beating Juventus and then Inter via comeback wins.

He ended up being in charge of 31 games with Milan across all competitions, with 16 wins but 10 defeats. The Supercoppa would be the highlight, while the Coppa Italia defeat to Bologna ended up sealing his fate, and the Champions League exit to Feyenoord did not help.
Conceicao: Milan a ‘tough time’
Conceicao spoke to The Athletic about a number of topics from his current role in Saudi Arabia to the upcoming World Cup. He spoke a bit about his son being in the national team, revealing an insight into his time with Milan.
“His call-up is a source of pride. I don’t know yet if he’ll be part of the World Cup squad, but if he does go, it will be something I’ll love. He always calls us before matches, he watches tons of games, and when I lose, he’s sad,” he said (via Calciomercato.com).
“Last year was a tough time at Milan, and he was sad about it too. Since he cares so much about his family, he suffers for me and his brothers.
“Because of our jobs, we can’t always follow him live, but we’re always with him, and I’m happy with what he’s doing with Juventus and Portugal. He has enormous potential.”
