Serie A fixtures for 2024-25 revealed today – all the key details

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan already know which opponents they will face next season, but this morning they will find out what order they face them in as the 2024-25 Serie A fixture list will come out.

The ceremony begins at 12:00 CEST, and the first bit of important information is that the opening weekend will take place on August 17 and the season will run until May 25.

In addition to that, as Football Italia point out, there will be a change in sponsorship after over 20 years as the name of the league will switch from being ‘Serie A TIM’ to ‘Serie A Enilive’ after they signed a deal until 2027.

There will be breaks for international duty on the weekends of September 8, October 13, November 17 and March 23 and only one midweek round is scheduled for October 30. During the Christmas period there will be games on and around December 22, December 29 and January 5.

After recently bringing the change in, the 2024-25 season will continue with the asymmetrical calendar, meaning the second half of the season is not just a mirror of the first but an entirely different order.

The league have already made it clear that there will be no local derbies on the first, last or midweek rounds, while the new system for European competitions – which we explained in a feature – will also prompt some changes.

Teams in the Champions League will not be able to face other Serie A sides that are in the Europa League or Conference League in the following rounds: 5, 6, 22, 25, 28, 32 and 35.

In addition to that and with a move towards being even more TV-friendly, there are now nine different kick-off times each weekend ranging from Friday night to Monday evening. Only at 14:00 CEST on Sundays will there be two games on at once.
