Franck Kessie could well return to Serie A in the summer, with ‘several big Italian clubs’ keen on signing him.
Kessie was one of the stars of Milan’s rebirth under Stefano Pioli, one that culminated with the Scudetto win in 2021-22. His last action for the club was to score the third goal in the win over Sassuolo that sealed that title, before departing on a free transfer for Barcelona.

Now, there is talk of the Ivorian potentially departing Saudi Arabia ahead of 2026-27. Milan are on the hunt for experienced players that know the league well, and Massimiliano Allegri will know Kessie well having faced him on multiple occasions.
‘Very close to a return to Serie A’
Matteo Moretto spoke in a video on his YouTube channel about what the future might hold for Kessie, and he confirmed that a potential return to Serie A is very much on with a multi-team battle underway. MilanNews relayed his words.
“Juventus are one of the teams most interested in him, but there are other clubs as well. Kessiè is currently keen to return to Europe, including Italy, where he’s already been and won with AC Milan,” he said.
“He earns a significant sum in Saudi Arabia, so whoever wants Kessiè will also have to take his significant salary into account.
“Several big Italian clubs are interested in him, but it remains to be seen when and how the Ivorian midfielder, currently very close to a return to Serie A, will move forward.”

I mean, we could have spent the 40mil on Ederson from Atalanta in stead of the promise of Jashari or the uselessness of Nkunku neither of whom we know where to slot. Whereas Ederson would have fit right in.
Kessie would be a knee jerk reaction but could also work in Fofana’s role.
Ederson was 60m last summer. 40m is this summer’s price, so talking about buying Ederson last summer instead of Jashari is disingenuous. In any case, Jashari is being blocked by a Ballon d’or winner and a coach who prefers 30+ players.
There wasn’t a real need for Jashari last season either though with Modric and Ricci there…. This was Tare’s obsession for some reason. Jashari barely played this season as has Nkunku. That’s 80mil saved that could have been applied to Ederson – actual position of need.
You forgot Fofana. So Milan has Fofana and gets Modric and Ricci. Then Tare spends half of the transfer window chasing a 4th for this position, just because he is Albanian. 100%, no other reason, I actually suspect he took money on the side as there is no logical reason to buy 4th player that prefers the same position while having who to play the other 2? RLC? Then Milan gets lucky with Rabiot and his Allegri relationship and that saved our midfield. I don’t think you can do much worse than Tare last summer.
Something does not add up, check Alegris teams, he always worked very good with young players.
And the fact we lose or when he plays. You didn’t mention this. Waste of money.
If he comes for free, it will be good additions. He served well before and never talked bad about club
Allegri said he needs a player like Rabiot to complete midfield. Meaning a guy that bites, wants to win etc. Money chasing guy isn’t that. He cares more about money than about anything else.
Yep. Bring Goretzka or Ederson.
Rabiot makes 9.5 million euros a year, way more than Kessie requested to stay..which they refused to give Maldini to keep him. Rabiot is just as much a mercenary as any other professional in high demand, as he should be. You help a team make 250+ million euros a year, they can pay you for your fair shar of the contribution as an athlete. Better that than give more of it to a filty rich owers who earn multiples more than the athletes everyone love to criticize.
I’d welcome Frank back in a heartbeat, prefer to have him on my team than against me.
Nope he can stay in the camel league where he belongs.
Rabiot is paid 4mil at Milan.
Rabiot earned that at Marseille, not here. Along with Nkunku, they are joint highest paid players on the team, each earning 9.26 million euros, before bonuses. 11.5 each if they hit them.
They are paid way more than everyone who were criticized for leaving who asked for way less wages.
Management agreed to pay these guys, coming off injuries, being older or playing in unproven leagues, prior…over proven assets who did well for us at younger ages but hey, better they wake up late than never
9M+ is gross salary his net is 5M the cap
This is ridiculous, you don’t get the basics and you’re explaining. Rabiot has under 10M GROSS. 9.2M without bonuses. Origi had 7.4M. Casshie had 11M at Barcelona. He wasn’t worth even close to this so they sold him after a year for 15M. Just to cover his costs and get rid of him. At this point Saudi clubs were offering 100M for players. I hope to see him at Milan only when visiting his old club once his career is finished.
Kessie and Ederson? We have Ricci and Jashari.
We used to be finding the next kessie, now will we get the real Kessie.
