GdS: Who, what and how old – several questions emerge for Milan’s new algorithms

This summer, it seems AC Milan are going to head towards a more algorithm-based approach and plenty of answers need to be found.

It is no secret that Milan want to work smartly. Gerry Cardinale has said so countless times and the focus on a ‘moneyball’ strategy in recent years has not gone unnoticed. So, the use of algorithms can be essential to finding the best fits for different questions.

Milan’s algorithms

As Gazzetta dello Sport write, seven major questions need to be answered this summer and it seems that the answers will be found by different algorithms.

The first couple are quite simple, how many players are wanted in the squad and how old should they be. Ultimately, they are looking to build a core between 21-24 years old – which is seen as the best bracket for blossoming talents.

Then, you have to ensure that the squad is deep enough to compete throughout the season in numerous competitions.

Following that, the questions zone in on profiles. So, which areas need improvement? And then you have specifics about them. What type of defender and which type of wingers? Finally, the most important question for some may be about Amorim’s ideal striker.

Indeed, that is an answer that needs finding quickly and the Rossoneri are desperate to finally strike gold in the No.9 market…
