Shamrock Rovers star praises Milan for showing ‘class on and off the pitch’

By Isak Möller -

Milan managed to secure their spot in the third round of the Europa League qualifiers, beating Shamrock Rovers 2-0 away from home. The Irish side put up a good fight and seemed pleased with their performance.

The Rossoneri did what they had to do and not much more than that, which is understandable given that it was the first game of the season. In an interview with Irish Star Sport (via Mark McCadden), Aaron Greene praised Milan.

“The Finnish players were calling us shit. They didn’t respect us”, he began, referring to the opponents they faced in the previous round. However, he didn’t have any poor words about the Italians: “Milan showed their class on and off the pitch”.

Greene’s son was present at the game as a ballboy and received Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s shirt after the game, which inevitably made for a great story. Milan will take on Bodø/Glimt in the next round on Thursday evening.
