Relevo: A ‘shocking’ decision – Ancelotti ‘in the balance’ after Milan defeat

Carlo Ancelotti is one of AC Milan’s most iconic players and managers, but the defeat to his former club has left him hanging in the balance at Real Madrid.

There are few people who receive as much respect and love as Ancelotti in football, and from a Milan perspective, this is elevated. The former coach and player won everything during his spells at the club and was part of two different iconic teams.

During the late 80’s he played alongside Ruud Gullit, Marco Van Basten and Paolo Maldini before managing the latter when he returned in the 2000s. However, football is rarely a game of sentiment, especially when it comes to the Champions League and former relations were forgotten during the game on Tuesday, with both clubs having a job to do.

For the first time since the 2009/10 season, the Rossoneri left the game with a victory, and according to Relevo (via Milan News), the defeat has left Ancelotti’s job at Real hanging in the balance.

Los Blancos currently sit nine points below La Liga leaders Barcelona – who beat Ancelotti’s side recently – and with six points in the Champions League, there is a general frustration about things. Additionally, the coach has been unable to make things click this season due to new additions, which is frustrating the Spanish giants’ management.

The report suggests that the idea is ‘shocking’ with Ancelotti delivering 10 trophies in three years, however, it seems this will mean nothing unless the former Milan man can turn things around.

      1. No bigger Yes Man in the coaching world than Ancelotti.
That shows again how little you know. Berlusconi used to tell him who to play and Real Madrid don’t even ask him who to buy or who to sell.

  1. What is happening to Real Madrid is nothing new, they have been lucky the problem they had for years is now manifesting, the team is badly built, just look at the s uad from the defence to the attack, certain problems can easily be seen, apart from their starting 11, they don’t have anything good after them, they don’t even have a recognised striker, and Ancelloti has been patient with the club, he has continuously used what is available to him without complaining, certain financial issues, and outrageous salaries are to blame.

  2. Real madrid are built on house of cards. They may never win another CL.
And will soon be unable to pay the bills, while the corrupt and wealthy oil teams will always pay the bills.
European football needs a salary cap, or the next decade is going to be pretty boring to watch.

  3. Yes, Real Madrid managers, please do fire Ancelotti. Fire him, fire him, fire him!!! It’s not like he’s the best coach in the world (regardless of having just won the Ballon d’Or as such), right?

Hey, Ancelotti, come back to AC Milan! We’ll get rid of Fonseca and you’ll coach Milan again. What about that?

  4. The problem is they got Mbappe who is only effective playing in Vini’s spot. Who do you bench? Otherwise you’re playing with 10.25 players. Remember that Mbappe didn’t work out playing down the middle for France. It took Giroud, yes, Giroud playing as the 9 for that team to click.

  5. It is slightly insulting that Real’s management would consider firing Ancelotti after a loss to Milan. Hey, we do have quality! Losing to us is not the end of the world! It’s not like they lost to Bratislava!!!

    1. Well, if you read what some people here write about the club Milan seems to be inferior to Bratislava. All the b*tching and whining about how “pathetic” and “embarrassing” we are and how we’ve become a MIDTABLE TEAM.

  6. As much as i wish he would comeback to Milan, i don’t think he will click with Gerry and the new management.

So yeah, it’s not gonna happen unless Milan got a new owner and Maldini on the board again.

  7. Well they had to have MBappe, pure vanity on their part and now they are trying to shoehorn two star wingers in the same spot.. they were just fine last season without him, so Ancelotti should take a leaf out of Fonseca’s book and bench the French darling…
