Six AC Milan Women players called up for international duty – the details

By Steph Insixiengmay -

Six players from the AC Milan Women have been called up to international duty for their respective countries.

The players are Valentina Giacinti (Italy), Laura Fusetti (Italy), Valentina Bergamschi (Italy), Linda Tucceri Cimini (Italy), Dominika Čonč (Slovenia), and Mária Korenčiová
(Slovakia).

All six players will be representing their countries next week, as Italy and Slovenia, and Slovakia will try to qualify for the Women’s Euros in 2022.

Laura Fusetti, in particular, has a chance to shine for Italy. Milan’s co-captain will most likely start in the Azzurre’s next match against Israel, due to the fact that starting centre-backs Sara Gama and Cecilia Salvai are both injured. She’ll be filling for them alongside Bordeaux’s Elena Linari.

Italy’s match against Israel will take place on September 17th at 20:45 CEST. Slovenia will play Turkey on September 18th at 20:00 CEST.

If the Rossonere fare well during their matches, then they’ll be able to carry that momentum back with them when the league resumes.

AC Milan’s next match will be in the Coppa Italia on September 27th. They have been drawn into a group with Orobica and Cesena, and will suit up against one of the two teams then.
