The AC Milan management are expected to work a lot on the exit front during the summer transfer window and there are six players who face an uncertain future, a report claims.
We are currently in the middle of a window but technical director Paolo Maldini and head coach Stefano Pioli have already declared that they are not expecting any business to be done between now and the end of January, with focus instead shifting to the summer.
According to Calciomercato.com, the plan for Maldini and Ricky Massara is to trim the squad down to side by offloading some players that are no longer deemed crucial to the cause.
There are six players who could leave Milan in the summer as per the source, namely goalkeepers Ciprian Tatarusanu and Antonio Mirante who are out of contract, Tiemoue Bakayoko whose loan from Chelsea expires, and then three wingers in Junior Messias, Alexis Saelemaekers and Ante Rebic.
Dont forget, ibra, vranckx, dest, ballo toure, krunic, diaz, Adli and most importantly Origi. All either are leaving or should be.
By summer it will be too late, we need investment NOW!!
jsut send them the cash and they wil invest brah
I paid to see them at san siro last April. Have the milan swag too.
So been doing my part as a supporter.
Its Redturd who needs to open the cheque book. Fans are paying plenty
We are in serious danger of missing out on top 4.
What then? Further cutbacks?
What you paid for a ticket and swag is fckin CHEAP. So don’t act like you spent millions of euros to keep Milan afloat lmao.
Literally the most dumb ass comment i have ever seen posted !
I dont live in italy so it wasn’t cheap.
Its morons like you who never spend a dime.
How do you think football clubs earn money? Tv, tickets, shirt sales, sponsorship in other words their supporters
that was last april.. if you want better players you gotta give a bit more cash than going to a game, but what do i know, im sure that Milan grows cash on trees and are just pretending to be poor…
Wow we really got all the geniuses in here today!
Please enlighten me as to how you suggest supporting the club? Send them a cheque?
I live in a different country you tool
im not a toool i just think its funny you saying how the owners need to spend for your to be content.. why wouldnt you spend? Dont have money, then stfup about it.. tho i agree more invesments are needed but money doesnt grow on trees and the whole point of the Milan project is for the club to become selfsustainable, which wont happen if they keep depending on some owners like in berlo era
The squad, I’m afraid, is a bit of a disaster area. There are 7 or 8 players good enough for a top European side and 4 or 5 who are worth persisting with, but 8-10 others who will never make the grade. The summer mercato was an unmitigated disaster, and is being compounded by the lack of investment in this window. The way things are going, Milan will be lucky to hang onto CL qualification. Sorry to sound so bleak, but Milan’s ownership needs to wake up and smell the coffee.
The problem is Ac raised players’ salaries and, amortisation from previous players transfer years. This year Milan is gambling fourth position for next champions league year, so I Think, if they keep Origi and Florenzi, they must keep Rebic and Saelemakers. There is no point spending and risking again in unproven players.
Biggest Milan problem is Rafael Leao contract. If they don’t manage to extend him, from next year Milan is going downgrade.
Leao looked very disheartened at the end of Lecce game.
These are the moments when a guy like that realises he is surrounded by mediocrity and the club not investing.
If the club brought in a couple of good players to help in attack it would give everyone a lift and belief in the project.
So invest and convince leao to stay OR continue to decline and wave good by
Four players who definitely will leave Milan this summer:
1) Ibra = retired
2) Mirante = out of contract
3) Tatarusanu = out of contract but Vasquez already covered his slot
4) Bakayoko = end of loan
Now the article mention Messias, Alexis, and Rebic.
1) Messias is a decent backup. The guy salary only 1 million /year and he never complain about his playing time. His goal & assist record also not that bad. But i’m not sure if Maldini will sell him or just let the contract finished. As far as i remember, he only have two years of contract.
2) Alexis just renewed his contract last year and his still young with plenty of room for improvement. His salary around 1-2 million /year iirc. For Pioli strategy, he needs dynamic player like Alexis who have stamina to roaming everywhere. So I’m sure he will stay.
3) As for Rebic, when this guy is in top shape, he’s unstoppable and make plenty of goals / assist. But from last season, the guy spent his days more in Milan healthcare than helping the team. I think his time in Milan is finished and it’s about time Maldini search for a young LW with potential who can help Milan but also give better competition for Leao.
As for Vranckx, Dest, and Diaz, i say Vranckx and Dest will be permanent. Vranckx shows some good potential as strong DM and Dest is probably will become Theo backup although he’s pretty decent as RB & RW.
Diaz is a decent backup too especially with his dribble and fast pace which CDK and Adli doesn’t have. But if there’s another player who’s affordable and better than Diaz then maybe Maldini should get him.
Origi definitely will stay and get his second chance. But i think a new striker still come to replace Ibra.
Just my two cents.
To get Vranckx and Dest permanent , Milan will have to invest around 35 million .
Neither one of them has proven that they deserve to be signed permanently.
Vranckx has played only around 70 serie A minutes so far, and Milan isn’t paying 20 mil for Dest to be a back up on top of his almost 4 million salary
– Vranckx already showed he have good potentials as a DM. He also made big contribution with his assist when Milan won against Fiorentina 2-1. Without his crossing, Milan would draw and only get 1 point.
Remember, Vranckx is still 20 years old with plenty of room for improvements and his price around 10 million euro which is affordable for clubs like Milan.
– Dest already showed he have a good quality as a full back. He played well in World Cup and recently he played well as LB. I’m sure his salary is negotiable.
My guy, Vranckx has played 70 minutes of serie A football.
Seventy minutes. What could have he shown that deserve to be bought for 12 million over 70 minutes? One lucky cross that end up being an own goal?
Once Florenzi comes back next season Dest would be the 3rd choice right back. His buyout clause is 20 million and gets 4 million a season salary that I doubt he would wanna lower it by much. Milan already pays Calabria and Florenzi 3 mil a season to play right back plus they have Kalulu that can play there too
70 minutes and he’s not just played well as DM but already made big contribution when Milan won against Fiorentina. You can say lucky cross or whatever, but if Vranckx didn’t do that cross then Milan woudn’t win.
When Florenzi comes back then he needs to show his quality again. If at that time Dest keeps playing well then Pioli will keep Florenzi in the bench.
“You can say lucky cross or whatever, but if Vranckx didn’t do that cross then Milan woudn’t win. ”
And if Vranckx didn’t make the silly foul on Dybala, Milan would have won Roma.
Ifs and buts…
if the board can’t spend after scudetto, how they will after won nothing this season?
this Cardinal man almost do nothing, i just imagine if M&M got budget of Li Hongyong even only in 1 season, spent smartly doesn’t mean being super cheap
We already missed the opportunity to sell Rebic, that was this last summer, now his value will plummet. Messias won’t get us anything. Saelemaekers might but might want to keep him as a backup if he won’t fetch much. Baka, Tata, and Mirante all expiring/leaving so no money to be made there.
Please just look at these names.. just look at them.. What a joke. Only name worth half a damn is Rebic when he’s on, the rest are trash, it’s embarrassing this is who we employ. And that’s leaving out Dest, Ballo-Toure, Thiaw, Vranckx, Pobega, Adli, CDK, Origi…..
These are not players that should be on a team looking to return to the top.
