Sky: A dozen players show up to train at Milanello on off-day – a sign of the group spirit

By Oliver Fisher -

As seems to be a recurring theme with the current group, a number of the AC Milan squad showed up to train at Milanello today despite having a rest day.

According to Sky Italia (via MilanLive), Stefano Pioli gave the players a day off today after last night’s dramatic Coppa Italia Round of 16 win against Torino, a game that went a full 120 minutes before Milan triumphed 5-4 in a penalty shootout.

Despite that, a dozen of the players showed up at Milanello anyway to continue their work and preparation ahead of next Monday’s trip to Cagliari. The broadcaster reports that Kjaer, Ibrahimovic, Romagnoli, Daniel Maldini, Bennacer, Gabbia, Saelemaekers and other team-mates were at the training ground.

It is yet another very important signal that the feeling of commitment within the group is strong, and Milan have put together a team with a great desire to work hard and improve. The results are not accidental, but the product of the hard work, sacrifice and spirit.
