Sky: Atalanta keen on signing young Milan midfielder as interest continues to grow

Young AC Milan midfielder Tommaso Pobega is attracting interest from Serie A rivals Atalanta, according to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio.

The journalist gave an update to Sky Italia (via MilanLive) last night and claimed that Atalanta’s interest in the Italy U21 international is concrete, because they want to focus on young Italian players and see Pobega as a very useful profile.

However, it must be seen what directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara will decide to do, because they have also had other offers for the midfielder. Last season Pobega played on loan at Spezia, where he amassed 6 goals and 3 assists in 20 appearances.

That came after a positive experience in Serie B with Pordenone, showing that the 21-year-old is on a growth path which could mean he is ready for Milan soon. The Primavera is of interest to several Serie A and also foreign teams and Stefano Pioli could take a look at him during the summer training camp before giving his approval to an exit, given there are doubts about whether he can fit into the 4-2-3-1 system.
