Sky: Ballo-Toure returns to Milanello for training – the details

Fode Ballo-Toure spent the summer away from Milanello, but today he has returned to Milanello with AC Milan suffering from a lack of proper left-back options.

Throughout the international break, the topic of Milan’s left-back was heavily discussed due to Theo Hernandez’s red card – which will see him miss the next two league games. Because of this, there are a lack of options available, and the Rossoneri are left fishing for a replacement.

It is a problem which needed fixing in the summer, but the management saw no need to invest in the position with several young options available. However, with Fonseca still yet to decide who will replace the Frenchman whilst he is suspended, it is a worrying admission that the squad lacks a proper deputy.

At present, it seems that he will be replaced by one of Filippo Terracciano, Alex Jimenez or Davide Bartesaghi, and given the latter duo are from the Futuro squad, it leaves the side slightly low on options.

As Sky (via Milan News) writes, with the Diavolo failing to part ways with Ballo-Toure he remains at the club, and he has returned to training this week with the Futuro squad. Whether he will become a member of the squad – either Futuro or first-team – remains to be seen.

  1. I‘m not sure about the rules, but I thought squad lists have to be defined at the beginning of the season and if he wasn’t on the list there is no way he can play?
