Sky: Calhanoglu set for new check-up to evaluate muscle problem – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan will carry out tests to determine the extent of Hakan Calhanoglu’s muscle problem on Monday, according to a report.

Milan managed to get the job done away at Roma on Sunday night, scoring one goal in each half to secure an important 2-1 win. After two consecutive defeats the Rossoneri got back on the right track, though they did draw with Udinese in midweek.

However, it wasn’t all fun for Stefano Pioli’s men as Hakan Calhanoglu, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ante Rebic were forced to leave the pitch injured. The former was replaced at the interval, while the other two left in the second half.

As reported by Sky Italia (via MilanNews), Calhanoglu will have a new examination on Monday to evaluate the evolution of the muscle problem in the medial flexors of his left thigh. He will, therefore, certainly miss the game against Verona on Sunday and it remains to be seen if he will be fit enough to face Manchester United in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 next Thursday.
