Sky: Calhanoglu set to ‘re-evaluate’ Milan’s offer after failing to impress at Euros

Hakan Calhanoglu is yet to respond to Milan’s renewal offer that was made towards the end of this past season. It seems he was waiting for the Euros to take place but perhaps now he wishes he hadn’t.

In addition to upsetting the fans by waiting so long, the No.10 is no longer on the best of terms with the Rossoneri management. And the plan to wait hasn’t exactly played in his favour, seeing as the Euros has been a fiasco for Turkey.

Speaking live on Sky Italia, as cited by MilanNews, Manuele Baiocchini shared the latest updates on the future of Calhanoglu. As you would expect, the playmaker is not set to re-evaluate the Rossoneri’s contract offer.

“We’re still waiting. Tomorrow could be Turkey’s last match at the Euros and Calhanoglu was hoping to play well to convince some teams to bet on him. It hasn’t been an extraordinary tournament for him and Turkey.

“The considerations that Calhanoglu and his agent made could now be re-evaluated, including the offer Milan put forward before the end of this past season,” he stated.

As said, it hasn’t worked out at all for the former Bayer Leverkusen to wait until after the Euros, which was always going to be a dangerous game. He’s lucky Milan didn’t pull their offer earlier, because then it would’ve been a different story.
