Sky: De Ketelaere to play from start in Milan’s clash against Verona

By Isak Möller -

Charles De Ketelaere has had a very tough first season at AC Milan, failing to find the back of the net, and only one game remains. A game in which, however, he will get the chance from start.

Milan paid €35.5m for the Belgian playmaker last summer and with that price tag, the expectations were high. 37 games in, the youngster hasn’t found the back of the net and only has one assist to his name.

According to the latest from Peppe Di Stefano of Sky, as cited by Radio Rossonera, De Ketelaere is expected to play from the first minute against Verona on Sunday. It won’t make much of a difference in general, but breaking the goal drought would obviously boost his confidence.

Milan could consider a sale, as was reported by Tuttosport earlier today, but the offer has to be the right one. A strong performance on Sunday could perhaps hint about his future at the club.

  1. Oh yay I’m so excited to see him suck again and maybe do 1-2 good things in an entire match. Hopefully we cab see origi suck too. Would be a spectacle to behold…

    1. Do 1-2 good things is enough to make most of the tifosi happy. I don’t understand why this kid is like “golden boy” for doing nothing impactful.

      1. I think he will finish this season with only 1 asist & 0 goal . We will stuck with him next season train him basic football

        1. I’d rather use him as RW like I already said before we signed him.

I thought Pioli has a team that use scientific data… Why didn’t he look at his heatmap at his last season at Brugge???

          1. I can guarantee he sucks at RW. He’s not fast, he doesn’t strike me as a guy who can beat his man 1v1. That junk may work in Belgium but he’ll look like a worse Messias guaranteed.

          2. I see a lot of keyboard warriors who pray that Milan fail on its investment. True Milan fans would have hoped that CdK can improve like Leao before him.

  2. If he couldn’t do jack against Sampdoria he won’t do anything against Verona. Then hopefully we’ll be more willing to sell and bring in Baldanzi instead.

      1. Sorry I forgot – he needs a full 90 to show his stuff against the bottom sides in the league. Looking forward to it against Verona.

  3. CDK wasn’t just a bad signing (for the price), he will go down as one of Europe’s worst signings in modern history.

I actually like Milan’s front office but it blows my mind no one has lost their job over the CDK transfer.

  4. Only to be substituted on the 2nd half or 60th. The way his ultras still have this high hope on our very last match in the league is just crazy.

  5. Maybe he’s not typical best goal scorer in serie a rn, but he should give alot of key passes to the team.

  6. Zidane, sallah, Lukaku, debruyne they where more than worst in their first season, Give CDK time either u play in next season or loan him to avoid regret later

  7. And to think we signed him over Dybala who was way cheaper and would have likely helped us compete for the scudetto and got us to the CL finals. CDK on the other hand was like having a negative player on the field

  8. Judge him at the end of next season. He’s moved to a more competitive league, moved country, new team and team mates, to a team that has struggled at times, and he didn’t have a proper pre-season with us. If next year he is still not doing great, then yes, his signing has been a failure, but its too early to tell now.
